The Riviera Club has always been the place to swim for over 80 years where generations of families have enjoyed the summer sun. Many children begin with swim lessons, join the swim team and then are hired for a summer job. Eventually they marry and the cycle begins again.
Built in 1933, the main pool is one of largest in the country holding over 1,290,000 gallons of water, measures 150 feet by 300 feet and includes large areas of shallow and deeper water. The main pool has a 5-lane, 25-yard course, a 5-lane 50-yard course, and a 5-lane 50-meter course available all day for lap swimming. The separate diving pool features two 1-meter boards and one 3-meter board. Spectator windows on the side of the diving pool are available to watch your children’s diving feats! For the younger swimmers, there is a 2 feet deep junior pool and a larger 2″ to 4″ deep wading pool. The main pool has a large spiral slide in the deeper water and a smaller slide in the shallow area. The wading pool also has a small child’s slide. Separate men’s and women’s locker rooms have lockers available to secure your belongings. Your must bring your own lock. The pools are staffed daily by Red Cross certified lifeguards and managers.
Numerous sun decks and lounge chairs are spaced around the pools for your comfort, as well as tables and umbrellas for periodic breaks from the summer sun. Beside casual swimming and sun bathing, other activities offered during the summer are early morning lap swimming for adults, swim team, swim lessons for children and adults, scuba, swimnastics and lifeguard training.
One of the best features of the outdoor pools is the Snack Shack/Beach Stand for your summer dining.
