2013 Adult Tennis Program

The Riviera Club Adult Tennis Program, under Tennis Pro Tim Brady, is designed for beginners through competitive level players. 

Tim Brady, with over 15 years experience as a tennis pro, will direct the Adult program and will be offering a new Academy program for pre-teens and high schoolers.  Tim started teaching tennis at his father’s summer camps. He is a Teaching Professional at the Carmel Racquet Club. Tim still plays tennis at the 5.0 level in tournaments. 

Rivi’s adult beginning program focuses on learning the basic skills and techniques required to play tennis. Classes cover both singles and doubles play, along with the rules and regulations.  Adult Programs run May 24 through October 2. All tennis clinics are pay as you go.  If more than 8 players sign up for a class a second pro will be added to the group.  Some class times may change after Labor Day.
Please sign up for classes by visiting the office before the first class or enroll online.

Rivi Adult Tennis Clinics

Adult Tennis programs run through the fall. Rivi Pros will a vailable on Tuesdays-Fridays from 3-6pm. Group lessons can be set up to fit your schuedle. Tennis Mixers

To put your skills to the test, there is a lively program of social tennis matches as part of the friendly social atmosphere that reigns at the Riviera Club. Throughout the season Rivi will host tennis mixers. These are non-competitive, social functions.  The Rivi pros will pair you up with different players of the same ability for an evening of doubles play.  A catered dinner is included with the two hours of tennis play.  Cost is $20/Member or $25 per guest.

Tournaments - Rivi Club Championships

Rivi Adult Club Championships will be held August 3 through 25.  Matches will take place Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday throughout the day.  If you are playing both singles and doubles events you may be asked to play two matches in one day. Tournament play is for Members only. Visit the Tennis House for more information.

USTA Teams

USTA teams are for the player who is looking for a more competitive tennis environment.  The season runs from May 1 through August 1, and matches are played in the evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  The day of the week depends on the level of play.  Each team usually has one practice a week in addition to matches.  If you do not have a USTA rating, contact Tim Brady at the Rivi Tennis House and he can get you rated and in contact with the team captains.  If you are interested in more information or participating on a USTA team, see contact info above.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are available throughout the season to work on specific skills in
a one on one situation.
